Estate Living: Association of Residential Communities Conference 24 / 25 June Ebotse Golf Estate

The stunning Ebotse Golf estate situated in Benoni Gauteng was host to this year’s annual ARC conference.

ARC (Association of Residential Communities) established in 2008, serves as the authoritive body to the residential estate community, offering support and templates for effective management of residential estates. ARC is the only body of its kind and its conferences, chapter meetings, training, portal and support has assisted the estate industry to speak with a collective voice for legislative resolution and instill various best practice, policies and procedures in order to effectively manage an estate / gated community as a business.

The 2014 conference was host to over 100 estate managers as well as key sponsors and partners to the industry; MTN, Impro Technologies, Pam Golding, Estate Living / Phoenix Creative Communication, SALI, GloPortal, Kusile, Kusile Consulting, Vodacom, Bidvest Finance and Bidvest Managed Solutions.

The event’s proceedings dissected procedure around fiduciary responsibility, legislative framework, code of conduct, ethics and social responsibility, dispute resolution, risk and finance, as well as labour relations and global standards to mention a few. Interactive panel sessions lead by industry leaders were successful in analyzing key problem areas and collectively working on solutions.

This year saw the much anticipated launch of the official Residential Estate Industry Journal, published by Estate Living, which is a tangible reference guide to the policies and procedures to the industry.

Founder and Managing Director of Phoenix Creative Communication and Estate Living Jaime-Lee van Sittert, was invited to participate in the panel session on PR, Marketing and Communication – “For effective communication to take place within any environment, one needs to establish the Needs, Market place and a solid strategy around such communication. The urgency, content and your estate’s demographic will ultimately determine your strategy whether it be online, print or social media.” She was also quoted in saying that “Effective communication is a combination of all three” and that “it is vitally important for estates to effectively communicate internally as well as externally, continuously driving their brand within the very competitive market”.

The 2014 annual ARC conference was an insightful experience of networking and solution finding. A special thank you to the ARC team, Ebotse Golf Estate and all of the estate mangers who attended.
